Testimonials

GHG have done several small and large projects for my 1890’s home in the Adirondacks. They are always incredibly professional and accommodating. I know I can trust them to work diligently even when I’m away on vacation.
— Deborah C
I worked with Mr. Barrow on the Park Avenue Armory, Board of Officers (2014) and Veterans Room (2015) restoration, where Mr. Barrow was a Project manager and Historic Fabric Consultant. From working with Mr. Barrow on these projects, I am very confident that he is an exceptional conservator artist. Mr. Barrow oversaw the historic plaster repairs, restoration of the decorative historic paint scheme and replicated historic wallpaper. The restoration of the Board of Officers Room was described in a New York Times article, “Ornate Peek at a Refreshed Gilded Age,” by Roberta Smith, the restoration of the Veterans Room was covered in a New York Times article, “Gilded Age Glows Again” by Randy Kennedy.
Mr. Barrow is without question a superb building conservator and artist with extraordinary ability and among the best Conservators I have worked with.

our PROMISE

We work on buildings that are important: important to the people who live and look after them. What we do now will be seen, felt and talked about for generations to come, so it’s important to do the best we can, with the materials that are correct, using techniques that are correct and with skill levels that are correct.

GHG prides itself on using all of the above and promises to provide the best advice and workmanship possible.

Because we like people & buildings so much we travel anywhere to work
